We are a well established and sought-after nursery and infant school, catering for children from 3 to 7 years old. We offer a stimulating curriculum which motivates children, providing knowledge and building confidence in a happy and friendly environment. The staffing team are caring, dedicated and experienced and we strongly believe that each child should be treated as an individual.
We see the children, their families and our staff as one big Chaulden family.
Welcome from Interim Headteacher - Mrs Vikki Johnston
It is a great privilege to have taken on the role of Interim Headteacher at Chaulden Infant and Nursery School and I am thrilled to have been warmly welcomed into the Chaulden family.
I have spent over 15 years in education, working across a number of Hertfordshire primary schools with incredible children, parents and staff. I have more than a decade of experience in leadership roles and have worked across the age ranges. I am proud to have been part of many educational journeys that have achieved high academic results through an engaging and nurturing curriculum, as well as, enabling all children to thrive.
I passionately believe in knowing the children in our school as individuals and always ensuring that they are at the heart of everything we do.I am looking forward to working together and seeing the children and families continue to flourish.
Ofsted Monitoring Visit December 2022:
'Pupils learning to read is a priority for all staff. Leaders have implemented a phonics programme that is supporting pupils to learn the important sounds they need to begin to read. Teachers and support staff check pupils’ phonic knowledge regularly. This means they can provide extra support and daily reading opportunities for pupils who need more practice. Staff have had training to help pupils learn to read well.'
'Leaders have a clear vision for establishing a broad and ambitious curriculum. They have already set out the progressive content that pupils should learn from the moment they join Nursery.'
'Pupils receive lessons that help them discuss and gain important knowledge to keep themselves safe. This includes advice on how to stay safe online. Pupils express how important it is not to talk to strangers on the internet and for your actions to be kind. Pupils say adults are trusted. They know they can talk to any adult in the school if they have any worries or concerns.'
